Conditions Treated

Patients generally come to my clinic for pain relief, relaxation, and natural internal medicine.

Pain Relief

Pain conditions are usually thought of as stagnation in the body’s channel system. I use gentle but focused acupuncture to create movement in the affected channels. When appropriate, I supplement acupuncture with Chinese-style massage, heat therapy, or traditional herbal medicine.

Pain conditions treated include headaches, menstrual cramps, arthritis, tendonitis, nerve pain, plantar fasciitis, jaw pain, and muscle strains anywhere in the body - neck, shoulders, elbows, arms, wrists, back, hips, legs, or knees.

Relaxation

Acupuncture is fantastic for stress relief and relaxation. A session of acupuncture or massage creates space to decompress, reflect, and rest deeply. Afterwards many people experience better sleep, a calmer mood, a boost in energy, or a general feeling of well-being.

Natural medicine

Chinese medicine can be extremely helpful as either a main treatment or a complement to primary medical care. Chinese medical theory and diagnosis can often make connections that would otherwise be missed, pointing to a fresh approach to treatment.

Because acupuncture and herbal medicine are relatively gentle and safe, they are useful to treat health complaints that may bother you on a daily basis but don’t seem serious enough for pharmaceutical drugs or surgery. Chinese medicine may help with these milder but still bothersome conditions.

Complementary care

Chinese medicine can also support your primary care in treating serious health conditions such as autoimmune disorders, cancers, endocrine disorders like hypothyroidism and diabetes, and a variety of respiratory, digestive, urinary, and gynecological complaints.

Preventative care

Finally, if you’re in good health but want to be proactive in living a longer, happier, and healthier life, Chinese medicine can still be useful. In particular, traditional exercises like Tai Chi and Qigong can do wonders for improving balance, flexibility, and strength.
